From the very beginning, Flying Embers’ hard beverages have been infused with gratitude. Through their nonprofit arm, the Embers Foundation, they dedicate 1% of all revenue from their hard kombuchas and seltzers to help first responders nationwide; through wildfire prevention and education, real-time natural disaster response, and recovery.

We teamed up with the brand to create an awareness campaign featuring, and elevating, real first responders and their stories. 7 firefighters, both active duty and retired, shared their memories and experiences in an inspiring docu series. Each film featured one Local Hero, together they show the many sides of first responders, and build awareness of Flying Embers’ support.


In honor of California’s Firefighter Appreciation Month, the films were released one at a time through Flying Ember’s social channels, with bespoke Stories giving a preview of each Local Hero, inviting viewers to learn more. Viewed together, they are a diverse cross section of the first responder community, and inspire understanding of why the brand is so passionate about helping these real life heroes.


To engage the enthusiastic hard kombucha fans that already love Flying Embers, we created a simple, direct call to action, and brought it to a place it couldn’t be missed – LA bars and Flying Embers’ Tap Houses. Through a QR code that allowed for instant, easy donation to the Embers Foundation; supporting first responders was as easy as tipping your bartender – and just as appropriate. On premise collateral delivered the message, and Flying Embers fans, delivered.
