Standard Black LA NY

The Adidas Y-3 Runner 4D is one of the most technically distinctive sneakers in the Y-3 catalog. A 3D printed midsole, signature lacing architecture, and a silhouette that sits at the precise intersection of performance and fashion. For the second iteration, the Runner 4D II, the colorway shifted to bone white. A subtle but significant change that demanded an entirely new visual identity.

The concept was reduction. Strip everything back and let the product carry the frame. Models dressed entirely in black. Rich, deep backgrounds that made the bone white of the runner the only place the eye could go. Dramatic motion that gave the shoe presence without competing with it. Percussive music timed to build anticipation throughout the film, turning a product launch into an event.

The still work followed the same logic. Tight compositions isolating the latticed sole, the lace detailing, the 3D printed midsole structure. Elegant positions that treated the runner less like a product shot and more like an object worth studying.
Standard Black was responsible for the full campaign identity across digital and print, developing a cohesive visual system that held up at every scale and in every context.

The social launch earned immediate pickup from the culture's most credible voices. Hypebeast, Highsnobiety, and Fucking Young all covered the campaign within days of launch.
